I have a new resolution. It's to blog more often! So here I am once again, typing out an utterly random post ahead. :p
Last weekend was good. Didn't take a lot of pictures, but looking back on this, I'm sure I'll remember what a fun weekend it was.
We sat in and watched Sex and the City! Okay, I know I'm damn late and I just watched it because the second one is coming out so I don't want to be too behind. I'd actually watched the first half on the bus back from Singapore, but that was obviously the censored version. I got the full version dvd from my brother and... boy, were there some nude scenes or what. Lol.
Every fifteen minutes I was going, "Hey, I didn't see that!" All I can say is, that guy who played Dante, who was Samantha's neighbour, must've been one happy camper.

Popcorn chicken in the car. Quite handy, actually. Hands free, and the aircon behind it cools it down so you can eat immediately. Adam and I are just too lazy for our own good.
Went to Adam's church friend's on Sunday night. The theme was fairytale & carriages (Okay, so they didn't exactly say it, but I'm assuming)! So pretty. The main table, covered in a dome like carriage. If you look closely enough, you can see the wheels at the end.
Can you see the carriage on the back drop too? It was at Sheraton Subang - where I remember once we went for a Leo event back in Form 5 and Ching liked it so much that she proclaimed that she was going to get married there. :p
Random picture of the day. Isn't it sweet? :)
It's a nice lazy, damp-feeling Saturday afternoon. The very kind that makes you sit on your laurels all day and just waste a nice day away doing absolutely nothing because you've worked so hard the five days before.
BUT CANNOT BECAUSE I ACTUALLY HAVE WORK TO DOOOO.
I even lugged home the laptop yesterday night, (Usually I keep it locked away in my pedestal drawer at work cause it's a dinosaur of a laptop and weighs like 5 tons.) telling myself that I would, indeed, open it up and work away over the weekend.
So when Adam asked me this morning what I was going to do - I proudly said, nonchalantly, "Oh, just gotta finish up some work today."
Let's see what I've achieved since I uttered those words.
Did the whole morning routine - brush teeth, wash face, empty usus besa- okay, you get the drift.
Watched the repeat of Mysteries of Love ep. 14 since I missed it last night. Raymond Lam as the geeky professor quite hot lor. He can teach me things any day.
Used some iPhone apps to modify an oh-so-adorable picture of Jayden I took yesterday night and posted it on Facebook.
Read a magazine Dad brought home.
Found a Four Four Two mag from Dad's pile and used more iPhone camera apps to take a picture of a smiling John Terry to send it to Mary.
Chatted with Mary for a bit and discussed hot eye-American-candy that we have to look out for during today's World Cup showdown between England and USA.
Downloaded more awesome possum Glee songs! (Aaaaah Adam and I just watched the season finale that day and it's overrrrrr now. :(((((( Season 2 cannot come quick enough. I ADORE Finn & Rachel's version of Journey's Faithfully, gahhh.)
Listened to said Glee songs. Over. And over. And over. And over again.
Took a nap.
Downloaded new picture search game for my phone! So addictive can die. Kept on trying to beat my own high score. (I swear I am my own worst enemy wtf.)
Picture of John Terry I sent to Mary this morning, complete with Hipstamatic love.
My new super addictive favourite game.
Progress check at 4:45 p.m.? NO WORK DONE KILL ME NOW KTHXBAI. :(
The iPhone and the Internet are the source of my destruction. Sigh.
I am opening my Excel sheet and we are going to bond. Right now.
ETA: Progress check at 5:23 p.m.? Karen came over and we ended up chatting till now about weddings.
I'm really going to open up my Excel and bond with it now. I swear. I really am.
Logged into Blogger awhile ago and saw that they have this new Template Designer thingymajig.
I've been planning to redo my layout (Actually I think I am probably more excited to change my layouts than to blog wtf) for awhile now, so what better time.
I present, version 6 or 7 or 8 of Beautifully Imperfect. Still got some tweaking to do with Blogger's new Pages function, which I'll slowly do in my own time, but we're more or less there.
New wrapper, same candy. :)
I've always liked motivational or thought-provoking quotes, stories, series, movies; you name it. I guess they give me a sense of hope, a belief.
Some call it being a dreamer, an idealist, immature, maybe fresh; others call it being optimistic, positive. I call it all of the above. I guess I can be called a little of all of the above, but I prefer the term inspired.
What prompted this post was an interesting story that I came across on the net. Thought I would just share this with you guys. Even if you silently read, or stumble upon this blog, you might have a need to read this. Even if you don't need it now, you might one day remember this story.
It's called the Parable of the Pencil.
So remember to choose, choose if you'd like to write lightly, non-commital as you lightly scribble your way through this crazy thing we call life; or whether you choose to press the hell out of the nib and leave a deep mark, so deep that even if someone erases what you've written, you and everyone else knows just what went into writing your words.
I'm going to make my mark. Are you? What colour are you?

It's called the Parable of the Pencil.
The Pencil Maker took the pencil aside, just before putting him into the box.
"There are 5 things you need to know," he told the pencil, "Before I send you out into the world. Always remember them and never forget, and you will become the best pencil you can be."
"One: You will be able to do many great things, but only if you allow yourself to be held in Someone's hand."
"Two: You will experience a painful sharpening from time to time, but you'll need it to become a better pencil."
"Three: You will be able to correct any mistakes you might make."
"Four: The most important part of you will always be what's inside."
"And Five: On every surface you are used on, you must leave your mark. No matter what the condition, you must continue to write."
The pencil understood and promised to remember, and went into the box with purpose in its heart.

I've not travelled that much in my lifetime. Could probably list down the number of times I've flew, with the longest ever being KL-Melbourne. 8 hours is more than enough to numb my butt, thankyouverymuch.
Early this year, I flew by myself for the very first time. I've always had companions each time, even when it was to Melbourne, I had Mel and YK with me (And actually Adam was on that very same plane few rows in front too, but I couldn't have cared less then la :p)
I know it's no big deal, really, but an experience nonetheless.
Those of you who know me well, would know that my mother's from Singapore, and that I've got a whole host of relatives there. Cousin Nyetlin made a stop by Singapore from UK in January this year, on her way back to New Zealand - no better time for a trip to see cousins.
I booked myself AirAsia flights over the weekend for a dash trip over Selat Tebrau and back. It was the crack of dawn, and Adam, being the dutiful boyfriend woke up at 4ish in the morning just to get me to LCCT.
We spent a little too long lingering over mcmuffins and hash browns so I was nearly late for check in. Rushed through passport and baggage checks and waited in the hall, watching the sun rise. So beautiful, so many people, heavy bustle, but yet, so serene.
I had to seek help on which plane to board because it was jam-packed and I was feeling like a little lost sheep and I sure as hell was not going to board the wrong plane on my first time and be the butt of the mother of all jokes for the rest of my life.
But well, no glitches and soon I settled into a nice comfy window seat.
There was nobody else in the seats next to me, so I had the whole row to myself, lots of peace, and this beautiful view. Tell me, when you see something like that by your side... The splendour is pretty damn immense.
I loved every single minute of it.
This Saturday, it's the same routine. AirAsia plane, LCCT terminal at the butt crack of dawn, down to Singapore, probably mcmuffins and hash browns for breakfast again, but this time, I can share the beauty of the view with my guy. :)

(And Pok Xian too hahahahahhahaha I did not forget you okay! Don't worry we won't make you feel like a lamp post.)
It's been awhile, blog.
I keep on telling myself I'll sit down and do a proper update one day, and not steal moments in between working hours, or while I'm waiting to go out to lunch (like now) to hastily type a few words in your body and deem it a proper update.
Time just doesn't permit! :( Boo.
The past month has been pretty damn crazy. Planning the Managers' Conference for 1,300 pax - all staff from senior executive level to top management - took up nearly all my time at work. Colleagues said it was like another day job, and I fully agree. Some of my other projects took the backburner and I am fully feeling the effects of chasing up to meet deadlines and clearing all the backlog accumulated.
But work aside, I'm taking a break this weekend! I'm on leave the coming Monday and tomorrow is a full day of training (read: hotel food and leave at 5:30 p.m.) so it feels like a super duper long weekend. Yeay. The boyfriend and I are making a trip down the island down under (Singapore! Not Australia, thought I wish it was :p) to visit Universal Studios and the casino, so it should be a blast.
Off for lunch now, colleague is waiting for me, so it's time to go till the next hasty update. Ack.
