Streamyx is seriously inefficient.
Makes me wonder- if their connection speed is anything like the speed it took them to configure my line, that's gonna be really bad.
It's Monday and exactly 9 days after I registered and they still haven't configured my line. Irritating buggers. So, I called them and gave them a piece of my mind, with my 'disappointing', 'dissatisfied', 'inefficient', 'lack of competence' thrown into my verbal belasah-ing; so hopefully they rectify things and give me my broadband.
The last time I called someone up and gave them a verbal belasah-ing, it worked. Domino's gave me a free pizza, so hopefully it's as effective this time round. :D
So, Streamyx aside, yesterday was dear Suki's birthday!
Jo, Mary, Sioki and I traipsed off to 1 Utama, in search for her present, and Ching's long-awaited present. Let me tell you, shopping for presents is never easy. I think it's because we keep on going from one place to another, and then deciding to look at other options for better deals or other stuff so that we manage to buy the absolute best. If that made sense.
Plus, 1U's not exactly, errr, small.
We walked for about twenty minutes and felt tired. Lmao. We're such bums. Went for a drink to rejuvenate, and decided that we wanted to watch a movie too. M.I:3 was sold out so we went for Poseidon. The reviews in the papers were pretty bad, but I surprisingly thought it was good. Exciting, at least. On a lazy day like that one, I needed a idle, action-packed, no-thinking-needed movie.
Finally managed to complete all our shopping for them, and all our shopping for me, lol. I haven't been on such a spree in ages, and it's so fulfilling because I got my stuff for 50-%-off.
Ahhh, I heart sales.
Went off to Sg. Buloh for Suki's dinner, and omg, I tell you, the dimsum in Sg. Buloh is heavenly. It is so damn good, and not that pricey. I would've taken some pictures to make you guys drool, but I was too busy stuffing my face.
Many dishes of dimsum later, we headed back to my place to cut Suki's cake, where we cam-whored and giggled a whole lot. Nothing new, right?
Suki dear, I hope you had a wonderful day and *fingerscrossed* the pressies too! Double hug.
And also, to Ms. Lee Man Teng- have an awesome birthday, babe! I'm so missing you. Nobody bitches as well as you do :D
*
The song of the mo- Snow Patrol's Chasing Cars.
Thought of the minute- I'm thirsty.
Wish(es) of the day- A gazillion bucks.
Thing(s) I should do- Get started on studying. Mel already finished the whole book of Accounting past year papers! *gasp*
Thing(s) you should do- Pick up the phone and text Suki and Teng a happy birthday.
Favourite quotes since the last I blogged:
*lecturer walks in wearing a horrible swirly checkered shirt*
Mel: Eh, Bryan, can get dizzy by looking at her shirt, weih! *laughlaughlaugh*
*yesterday, on the way to Sg. Buloh, in Wenxue's car, following the other two cars*
Jo: Eh, Wenxue, put your arrow!
Me: Arrow?! Signal, is it? :D

I'm back. Back to provide entertainment about my sad life to you guys. Just handed in my final assignment of the semester, and boyyyy, that kinda feels good. After toiling through the god-knows-how many assignments for the past few months, we're done with referencing and research and all that shit for this semester. But of course, there's just this tiny little factor called final examinations which throws a spanner into the works.
I've got another ten minutes, so I'll just do a quick post, before my Streamyx comes tomorrow! *ahemahem* More updates then.
But, I digress.
So in about less than a month, the World Cup kicks off.
I still remember the last time. We were in Form 3, and we bet on the matches in class. Don't ask. We gave our own odds on the matches and everything, and bet a few bucks a time. I remember conning Josie that I was giving him the upper hand in a bet, because he doesn't watch more than a few snippets of national football, but of course, in the end, I let him know. Because I'm such a nice person, like that. :D
Oh, but I can be real bitter too. Me and Sioki lost to some guy, which I think was Li Chun, and we decided to pay him totally in coins. *laughslaughslaughs*
As usual, I'm rooting for England. Rooney's out, but fingers crossed, he recovers, or they do well without him anyway. Big blow for them, but I'm not giving up. It's probably gonna be Gary's last World Cup too, so I'll be watching every single match.
I wanna buy a cheap England jersey that doesn't look so fake. Lol. Just to show my support for England [and I suppose to a certain extent, it shows my support for piracy. Damn, that's bad.] Anyone know where?
Anyway, I received this email on the World Cup about rules during the World Cup, and while in no way do I mean it to be deragatory or sexist towards women [well duh, I am a member of the fairer sex], it's just meant to be funny.
Rules for your girlfriend during the World Cup
1. From 9th June to 9th July 2006, you should read the sports section of the newspaper so that you are aware of what is going on regarding the World Cup, and that way you will be able to join in the conversations. If you fail to do this, then you will be looked at in a bad way, or you will be totally ignored. DO NOT complain about not receiving any attention.
2. During the World Cup, the television is mine, at all times, without any exceptions. If you even take a glimpse of the remote control, you will lose it (your eye).
3. If you have to pass by in front of the TV during a game, I don't mind, as long as you do it crawling on the floor and without distracting me. If you decide to stand nude in front of the TV, make sure you put clothes on right after because if you catch a cold, I wont have time to take you to the doctor.
4. During the games I will be blind, deaf and mute, unless I require a refill of my drink or something to eat. You are out of your mind if you expect me to listen to you, open the door, answer the telephone, or pick up the baby that just fell from the second floor... it won't happen.
5. It would be a good idea for you to keep at least 2 six packs in the fridge at all times, as well as plenty of things to nibble on, and please do not make any funny faces to my friends when they come over to watch the games. In return, you will be allowed to use the TV between 12am and 6am, unless they replay a good game that I missed during the day.
6. Please, please, please, if you see me upset because one of my teams is losing, DO NOT say "get over it, it's only a game", or "don't worry, they'll win next time". If you say these things, you will only make me angrier. Remember, you will never ever know more about football than me and your so called "words of encouragement" will only lead to an arguement.
7. You are welcome to sit with me to watch one game and you can talk to me during halftime but only when the commercials are on, and only if the halftime score is pleasing me. In addition, please note I am saying "one" game, hence do not use the World Cup as a nice cheesy excuse to "spend time together".
8. The replays of the goals are very important. I don't care if I have seen them or I haven't seen them, I want to see them again. Many times. There are always points of discussions which we missed the last time.
9. Tell your friends NOT to have any babies, or any other child related parties or gatherings that requires my attendance because:
I will not go,
I will not go,
and I will not go.
But, if a friend of mine invites us to his house on a Sunday to watch a game, we will be there in a flash.
10. The daily World Cup highlights show on TV every night is just as important as the games themselves. Do not even think about saying "but you have already seen this...why don't you change the channel to something we can all watch??", the reply will be: "Refer to Rule #2 of this list".
11. And finally, please save your expressions such as "Thank God the World Cup is only every 4 years". I am immune to these words, because after this comes the Champions League, Premier League, Italian League, Spanish League, etc etc. Also the European Championship & Copa America.
Thank you for your co-operation.
Regards,
Men of the World.
Lol. I had a good laugh.

Okay, so I decided to take five mins off from assignment work-duty to blog. Sue me.
You know what I realised today? I think I'm not blur. I have my *snapsfingers* super sharp moments at times, y'know. So, I came to the conclusion that I just retract into my own little bubble at times.
Hey you, why are you laughing at that statement? Yes, you!
:D
Like today, for instance.
I walked past the SanFran Coffee booth in the cafeteria, and the coffee smell had me craving coffee. Sooooo, since I'm already as broke as I am, I couldn't possibly fork out an extra penny for the indulgences of an ice-blended coffee, I went in search of Nescafe in cans.
I walked round and round and round the drink fridges but I couldn't find one. So, that's not possible, right? I remember Bryan buying one yesterday with Kimi Raikkonen on the can. I don't think the student body of Sunway gulps down Nescafe that fast. So where the heck did the Nescafes go?
I don't know. It's still a mystery for me.
In the end, I had to buy the Dutch Lady Vienna Coffee to fulfill my craving, which is IMO, not as satisfying as Nescafe and has higher digits on its price tag. Sigh.
Woe is me.
Up I went to the labs to get some work done on my assignment. Replied Suki's text while I waited for the comp to load up.
I wanted to type the word 'stutter', but I couldn't get it right. Even after seven times. Only then did I realise that the word 'stutter' does not exist in the handphone dictionary.
See, not my fault. Double sigh.
After typing some nonsense into my Stats assignment, I needed to insert some math equations into Microsoft Word. Off I went to the MathType Equation Wizard [where you can get all those fancy matrices, alpha/beta, integration signs etc. done] and spent, like, forever looking for the 'less than' sign. You know, this one: <.
I practically searched every function, looking for the damn sign in the programme, thinking that there's no possible way that they didn't have it.
And then I realised. The bloody sign's already on the damn keyboard. Ish.
Triple sigh.
So yeah, today's definitely a thick bubble day.

The song of the mo- Nada Surf's Always Love.
Thought of the minute- I really should get back to work now.
Wish(es) of the day- To go to sleep tonight and to wake up tomorrow morning, only to find that my fairy godmother has completed my assignment for me. =P
Thing(s) I should do- Oh, I so need to go shopping. You know I'm pathetic when I say that I miss the malls.
Thing(s) you should do- Buy me some even prettier stuff :) How bout it, guys and girls?
Favourite quotes since the last I blogged:
Nil. Zilch. I'm all quoted out from that last post. So, I'll leave you with a few from the best ever show to grace the planet.
Mouth to Rachel, in Ep3x13: "But, I'm not that guy, and I don't want to be. So, maybe the elite girls just aren't for me then. One of these days, I'm gonna meet a girl who really loves me, and maybe she won't be what you call hot, but I'll think she's beautiful... and I'll tell her so. I won't be mean to her 'cause I won't have to play games with her. I'll just be the guy that she can always count on, and that'll be enough... because she'll be elite to me."
Coach Whitey on the time capsule, in Ep3x15: "The important thing is not to be bitter over life's disappointments. Learn to let go of the past. And recognize that every day won't be sunny, and when you find yourself lost in the darkness and despair remember it's only in the black of night you see the stars. And those stars will lead you back home. So don't be afraid to make mistakes, or stumble and fall, cause most of the time the greatest rewards come from doing the things that scare you the most. Maybe you'll get everything you wish for. Maybe you'll get more than you ever could have imagined. Who knows where life will take you. The road is long and in the end, the journey is the destination."
Nathan's voiceover, in Ep3x20: "You know, it's been said that we just don't recognize the significant moments in our lives while they're happening, that we grow complacent with ideas or things or people, and we take them for granted, and it's usually not until that thing is about to be taken away from you, that you realize how wrong you've been, that you realize how much you really need it, how much you love it."
Nathan's voiceover, in Ep3x20: "Life is funny sometimes. It can push pretty hard, but if you look close enough, you can find hope in the words of children, in the bars of a song, and in the eyes of someone you love. And if you're lucky; if you're the luckiest person on this entire planet, the person you love decides to love you back."
I so can't wait for the season finale! *squeeee*

Okay, I'm blogging from the comp labs at uni, since dear ol' Mother Nature ever so kindly fried my modem at home.
No internet access for me. Good thing, anyway. I have assignments to catch up on.
But, but- I have finally convinced my dad to get me broadband! You hear that, Mr. Nick Chan, you who is forever laughing at my poor tortoise dial-up connection? Mwahahahaha. The wonder of broadband. Let's keep our fingers crossed that he won't go back on his word, and soon I'll be surfing the internet at quick speed with the best of you.
Okay, so Streamyx has been having tons of problems these days. Hell, but anything's better than dial-up, IMO.
Just a quick update on things. Was out for the entire Thursday last week with Mary and Siokkwan. First, lunch at McDs where we bumped into Josie, Chris and Shannon, and ended up having our very own lil laughfest.
Pasar malam later at night; we tried so very hard to convince Dong not to buy the pink water bottle that said something very unsuitable for a male to be carrying around, but needless to say, we failed miserably. Don't ask. I don't know what he sees in it either.
Friday night- Help UniColl's Open Mic Nite where we went and shrieked like crazy fangirls for Jo when he sang 'Sway' in the opening performance. Opening, weih. The floor was open for whoever who wanted to song, so somehow, in a whim of the moment, I ended up on stage with Jo, singing 'When You Say Nothing At All', while Dong did some fancy schtuff on the guitar. Thankfully, the guy who sang before us was so horrible that he chased everyone away, so there weren't many people left to witness my temporary lapse of insanity. I'm never going back to Help UniC again, no way.
Dong gave us a crazy rollercoaster ride back from Help. Lotsa swerving and F1 stuff going on. The fella doesn't know where the heck he's headed to, but still drives confidently like he totally knows what's going on. Lol. He gave us all high blood pressure and extra strands of gray hair after that ride.
Other than that, it's been pretty uneventful. Assignments and stuff. I really should start studying. But I'm not even done with my assignments yet. Damn.
So, till then, I won't be blogging much.
Much love to you guys :)
Since we hung out so much over the past few days, you can bet I got tons of good quotes :D

The song of the mo- Sheryl Crow & Sting's Always On Your Side.
Thought of the minute- Ooh, I like that guy's phone. Okay, okay, better not stare too much, in case he perasans.
Wish(es) of the day- Birthday wishes for Win Han, who turned 19th yesterday, and my sister who turns another year older today. She will so kill me if I disclose her age on the net. :D
Thing(s) I should do- Stay in uni the whole day tomorrow to do B&E Stats Assignment.
Thing(s) you should do- Buy me some pretty stuff :) How bout it?
Favourite quotes since the last I blogged:
Today, during lunchtime.
*Bryan displays some of his usual blur-ness, and damn, I can't remember what it is*
Me: And you call me blur? I think you're blur-er than me!
Bryan: No lah, you are blurer lah.
ZhenHan: No, his type of blur-ness is confidently blur, lah.

From the McDs session with Mary, Siokkwan, Joseph, Chris and Shannon.
Siokkwan: *holds up Pengajian Am book* What does P.A. 1 & 2 stand for?
Josie: *deadpan* Well, you see, P.A. 1 is pa. And P.A. 2 is papa.
Us: *laughlaughlaugh*

In the car, on the way back from HelpUC, going through some dark neighbourhood.

Mary: Oi, you know where you going or not?!

An unfortunate event happened when someone, let's just call her Miz. X*, sort of, erm, lost her, erm, footing on the stairs at Help UC.
*Name changed to protect privacy and pride.
Dong: Eh, so why la you fell down just now?
Miz. X: *glares and replies sarcastically* Because I felt like falling.

*
Us: *laughlaughlaugh*
Bryan the Confidently Blur. What a contradiction. :D

And my family just keeps on expanding and expanding.
Su was rushed to the hospital in the wee hours of this morning because her water bag burst. She was initially scheduled for a C-section tomorrow [the baby's too big and it wouldn't be safe for a natural birth].
We always said that Su should try for an 04.05.06 birthdate, just for kicks, but oh well, guess my niece couldn't wait to see the world =)
As I'm typing this, she's probably already given birth to the lil darling.
We're going to see her tonight, and I can't wait.
*beams proudly*
Pics will be up way soon.
