Oh May, May I?

birthdays Saturday, May 30, 2009

Feels like it was only yesterday was Labour Day and I had to go to work the weekend after that for our stock count.

Well, we had the next month stock count today which marks the end of another month. Looks like time is on super F1-Ferrari turbo speed. And time also has those funky rear diffusers that are making Brawn zoom past everyone else. Before you know it, we'll be old and crinkly and my knuckles will be suffering from arthritis, thus making it painful to type. Beautifully Imperfect will then be left to bask in the glory of its heyday (yeah, right) and begin its lowly spiral into oblivion.

Omg wtf drama queen much? Heh.

But really, time is flying. It used to be quite difficult getting through the week at work but now Friday seems to come around a little quicker. Half the friends I have are already 22. I'm going to be 21 OLD in a few months time. I'm going to be a young adult! The horror. -_-"

Random thought: I'm wondering if I should splurge and buy myself new work clothes from Dorothy Perkins. I saw the cutest ever white button down shirt with cap sleeves and tiny black polka dots, and this beautiful cream woven tulip skirt. Unfortunately, that would set me back RM200 and then I can just eat roti canai for the whole of June.

If only the only choices we had to make were whether to take out four blue-green notes from the ATM and exchange that with a shopping bag containing your garment of choice, or not.

Or whether to try out Full House in Ara Damansara. Because if you're ever faced with this choice; honestly, it's just so overrated. Especially with the umpteenth write-up on it by whichever blogger of the moment. Sure, the concept is interesting but the novelty wears off after one visit. You get waiters who don't understand simple questions like "how much?", very crappy food and if you're seated outside, mosquitoes and sweat.

We went there for Josh-mosh's "farewell" before he left to Pantai Remis for the second part of his industrial placement. (Which didn't exactly happen but that's a different story, heh.)

Brotherly hugs goodbye HAHAHA. Caught in the act!

We too must add some sisterly love to the mix.

Next boyband feat. Snoop Ed album cover.

And then on the 28th, it was off to 7ate9 at the Ascott for SuperBryan's pre-birthday celebration.

Our depleted uni gang which has lost some members to work. And for some reason, Andrew's bling really stands out here.

Group pic to end the night.

Annnnnddddd, it was also a pretty special day for other reasons altogether.

Love (:

So month of May, may I bid you farewell and usher in June with hopefully change to come?

Oh Hot Damn.

football Tuesday, May 19, 2009

The air-con in office has broken down and I'm sweating like a pig. The air-con repairmen have been here for more than an hour and have as good as turned our pantry into a dustball because that's where the air-con starter is and still have the nerve to look confused. And we are all still sitting in a stuffy office all the way from yesterday morning.

HR Manager even had to change out of her suit into a tee shirt. Heh. You can hear flapping of files all around just for a little bit of wind.

Obviously when it's so hot, productivity slows down. Nobody can concentrate on work, so The Star Online it is for me. And apparently Donald Trump is suing the author of a book for labelling him a millionaire. Why? Because, get this, according to him, he's actually a billionaire.

Looks like he's losing some of those billions to pump into an ongoing lawsuit. Not like he can't afford it, but that's one of the most preposterous things I've heard in a long long while.

Which leads me to wonder, how many of us will make it big? I've been privileged enough to grow up in a family where the older siblings are successful professionals and this has made me believe that I will follow suit. No two ways about it. But now, I've been disillusioned. A less than satisfying first job. It's more like, where do I really go from here? I want to live a comfortable life, but will I be able to do enough to provide that? Ahh, questions and no answers. Time will tell, I suppose.

On a brighter note though, some things to look forward to are the friends returning to our land of nasi lemak! Chris actually called last night, to my surprise. What more on the house phone. He still remembers it after all these years. We used to spend ages on the phone talking about the girls he liked and all that teenage fluff. According to Chris, Dong is also apparently coming home for the first time since he left to the US what, 3-4 years ago? And then of course there's Ching coming home from Shanghai with a fancy Shanghainese accent and super-fluent Mandarin. Suddenly, I'm dying to go on a road trip. It's been awhile since Langkawi with the best friends.

I guess that it helps to know that no matter what shit job I have, I'll always have the best people around me.

AND OF COURSE, THE BEST FOOTBALL TEAM IN THE WORLD!

Oh hullo, Gary.

Genius.

Everything and Everything In Between.

family Saturday, April 18, 2009

After that last week of utter pain, I am proud to say that I went to the dentist this morning to get my stitches removed and feel so much better already. It was a bit scary to feel her snipping away in my mouth and then tugging at the thread (or whatever schmancy term they have for medical thread) but hell, it's over. And I feel like a (poorer) heroine for going through all that. Yay me!

Oh, and then as I left, she casually mentioned, "Eh I just saw your x-ray, not sure if the teeth are out in your mouth yet but I saw all your wisdom teeth in the x-ray. So don't worry, you solved one already."

WTFFFFFF. GREAT. How come I'm not feeling all the extra wisdom I should be getting?

Anyway, have been working for about a month plus and so far it's okay. I really don't see myself being here all that long, but it's a slow and steady learning process. I never really thought myself as the super high-flyer ambitious type but sometimes at work I find myself wondering how some of them can stay so stagnant with their jobs for life. Guess we're just all made from different moulds. I brought pictures to work to place in my cubicle and as I was looking for pictures to bring, I realise all our really nice group pictures are either in clubs and/or have alcohol in them. Shit. Tell me, what does that say about us, my dear friends?

Random pictures from everywhere because I feel like remembering these moments ten years down the road.

Jayden and I at his first ever birthday party, him looking oh-so-metrosexual in his pink and dark blue striped polo and pink pacifier to match. Heh. He got a new blue pacifier today ~~to further enhance his manhood~~ because this pink one was getting too worn out and he HATES it. It's quite funny. He holds it, and tests it for about a second in his mouth and promptly spits it out and does it over and over and over again.

And then tries to stuff the new blue manly pacifier into his Wen Kor's mouth because he's decided he still hates it. -__-

BabyGap for the one year old, yo.

The incomplete group of uni people at Kiara a few months back, I think. After which we left to Elaine's place for Taboo and proceed to thrash the guys asses' at it. Hee.

Curled up and watching tv together. Makes me wish I had that kind of closeness with my cousins too.

I'm training the little one in camwhoring. Amelia goes to this song-and-dance class at Yamaha on Saturdays with Su where they just basically do all sort of fun stuff and help develop the creative side of children. So there was this Saturday where they had to bring pictures of the little one for some game, and when they flashed her picture on the screen, the vain girl shouts out, "AMELIAA PREEEEEETTTTYYYYYY!"

Su must've been mortified :D

Aww, look at the adorable girls. Jayden looks so disinterested in the camera, heh.

There, that's better. :)

Funny sign in a bar which as I was reading, attracted a drunk guy to come up to me to tell me that it was impossible to keep husbands from looking at foreign women. Heh.

Admit, somemore. Tsk.

HAHAHA that face!

Mickey.

and Minnie. <3

Back then I still had time to camwhore at work to MMS the boyfriend for the purposes of illustrating my bad hair day. Work is most definitely not so idle anymore :(

This how we recuperate after a busy week at work/class. BarClub two Saturdays ago because the Uniten boyband was off from exams.

Antaru pimpin' in his fedora and the...chair-who's-name-suddenly-eludes me.

Su Yi, Rogerlalalalala & NickBotak.

And rounding off the boyband, Joshy!

Meet the Tan family's shoe room. (I swear only a few are mine. Really.)

And look closely and you'll see that Jayden has his first pair in the room! Hee, the kid can wobble around so quickly in his shoes these days.

This one's for you, Zhen Han! I'm sure everyone knows why.

Sue Lin's 23rd birthday celebration at Chilis :)

Joshua's super cool 8th birthday cake. Ben10 AND PSP. Possibly his two favourite things in the world.

ZOMG DAMN PUNK. :D

"GASP! o.O"

"DOUBLE GASP! o.O"

"TRIIIPLE GASPPPP! o.O"

HAHAHAHHA so adorable. I don't even remember why he was doing it.

There, I'm all picture-d out. It's nice to just take some time off and walk through these pictures again. It hasn't been that long, I think most if not all are from 2009; but still, memories are somehow clearer when they are eternalised in snapshots. It's been a good night. :)

Apparently, I'm to be off to a day-road-trip to Melaka with the uni peeps tomorrow. Satay celup. /drools all over keyboard.

xoxo.

St. Valentine.

day out Sunday, February 22, 2009

So, usually come early February, the decorations and the special booths selling Valentine's Day merchandise kinda make it a little hard to forget that Valentine's Day is just around the corner. The boyfriend conveniently ran away to Thailand that whole week, leaving the poor girlfriend to fend for herself all alone here... but s'okay. She had five very nice soon-to-be-engineers who brought her on a joyride up to Lookout Point Ampang on Valentine's eve.

And awww, they even bought me a rose. Such gentlemen.

(Psst, who are all very single and available. Nah, tell me which one you interested in.)

The view from Lookout Point, Ampang. It's quite pretty there, but couples galore. Imagine the five guys and I, sitting cross-legged there, with the guys talking loudly about housemates and girls' legs and Roger's hair and selling fedoras. We spoilt the moment for everyone there, for sure. Oopsies.

We took a fast joyride down Lookout Point with the windows down and then our dear friend Andrew wondered out loud from the front seat, saying technically the car would fly if we all stretched our hands straight out of the windows. I'm pretty sure I got a wtf look all over my face in the backseat. HAHAHAHA. Engineer talk.

We all had plans together again Saturday for our Valentine's dinner, and Mary, Siokkwan and I decided to put together Valentine Day care packages for them, with special items with special meaning. Lol.

See? So personalized somemore.

Some of the stuff used to make party packs for the guys. Yes, the foil packets are what you think they are. Ask them if they've used them yet! :P

Rice wine lalas from Lala Chong at dinner.

(OH HELLO ROGER!)

Awesome expressions. :D Someone said Roger looks like he's lifting the World Cup HAHAHA

"HAHAHA so what's your new nickname? Oh, I see, it's sampat." :D

WAHAHAHAHA this pic is damn classic. Roger looking at the mushroom soup, Nick looking at the kacang and Andrew's classic omgwtfIgotabigegg! expression.

Okay, enough pics of the guys right.

LOL. We wanted to request a song from the awesome live band playing at Waikiki's (specifically Womanizer for Andrew) but they didn't know how to play it, so then we opted for Jason Mraz since they all proudly endorse fedoras. I scribbled "To the Uniten Boyband" on a receipt and passed it to the lead singer and she went "Oh okay, United Boyband, sure!" HAHAHHAHA

So there you have it, the United Boyband feat. Ed. :D

Group pic! Was great fun, guys. :) Thanks for making it a memorable one.

.
.
.

Because how could it not be memorable when this bunch of six guys bring these three girls to a CYBERCAFE to KILL ZOMBIES on Valentine's night after dinner and drinks? Heh.

Yes, that's exactly what happened. So I can now proudly say that I have played Left4Dead. Once. Pfft.

Happy Valentine's Day, a week late everyone! :)
