Top of Our Lungs.

You know how you always see those karaoke sessions on TV, in those Chinese TVB serials which air over Wah Lai Toi. It's dark and misty, the actors jump around with rehearsed exaggeration and emotion, and wiggling eyebrows, shelling peanut after peanut.

Yeah well, that's exactly what we did yesterday afternoon. The heartfelt emotion and exaggeration and wiggling eyebrows was there too. No peanuts though. Lol.

Red Box in the Curve is actually really nice compared to the branch they have in Sunway Pyramid. They've got nice modern deco, an lcd screen for you to choose your songs on, big TV, comfy couches. We paid RM 7 per person, and got two jugs of free drinks as well. I'd say really worth it for all the fun we got...

...And it was a complete blast! Wei Soon, Jo, Suki, Siok Kwan and I screamed our throats hoarse. I had a great time. Out came all the oldies, the songs of the golden era, all the emo love songs. Tonight I Celebrate My Love For You, Getaran Jiwa, My Way, Right Here Waiting, She Bangs, you name it, we most probably sang it. The five of us even sang a mandarin song [god, I never thought I'd ever have to sing this, let alone listen to it] by Ah Niu. Something about asking the girl in the opposite house to look over here. And something about her looking left and right, and up and down. Lol. Don't ask. Weird song, that. Wei Soon even tried to rap an Eminem song. Lol, you just better stick to singing and guitar; rap is SO not your thing. =) He tried to sing 'Pang Yau' too, but couldn't get past two words into the song.

It was just madness. Thankfully, we were all sporting people, and as usual, we got high on our on laughter. We linked arms and swayed from side to side to Shania Twain's From This Moment On. We stood up, sang and shook our booties to Beyonce's Baby Boy. And shouted, danced and jumped around to the Friends' theme song. So fun. Big frenzy in Room 18 of Red Box that afternoon. Any innocent dude who was just happening to pass by would have gotten a whole eyeload of five idiots dancing around the room. Haha!

I have to say that was a whole lot of stress which vapourized away with every song, though.

Wei Soon yang nyanyi dengan penuh perasaan kepada gadis idamannya yang tercinta. Haha. This was during When You Say Nothing At All, I think.

Sioki and I. We were naughty influences to her that afternoon.

Me and Mr. 'Getaran Jiwa' P. Ramlee. The 'P' stands for Pang Wei Soon, by the way.

Siok Kwan and Suk Kwan. Suki dear, I think your hair looks fine. And I can't wait to see your new specs. Don't be so paranoid! :)

Jo and Sioki duetting to Right Here Waiting. The two future Malaysian Idols in the making. =)

Oh yeah, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory is a complete waste of time. Really. The book was tonnes better; the movie did absolutely nil justice to the book. It only ruined the Charlie and the Chocolate Factory tale that Roald Dahl left behind. The only highlight was the kid, Charlie Bucket.. and of course, weird looking Johnny Depp looking as though he borrowed clothes from Michael Jackson. The dude who acted as the Oompa Loompas deserves a huge award, though. Oh well, like Ms. Sham would say, 'If you have nothing to do, don't watch it. Having nothing to do is better.'
