Mama, I Love You.
Sunday, April 29, 2007A little bit of old-skool Spice Girls-ness in 'Mama' comes up on shuffle in Winamp, and it got me thinking that this is the first time EVER that I'm not spending Mother's Day with my mum.
Especially now when she needs me more than ever.
SIGH.
I must make her a gorgeous Mother's Day card soon. I used to make her little cards which I thought were the most beautiful in the world, accompanied by my oh-so artistic stick figure drawings and disfigured scratched alphabets with my coveted Luna colour pencils. And she kept all of them, undoubtedly thinking they were the most beautiful cards in the world. I love my mummy. As the years went on by, I grew out of card-making, and bought presents instead, but somehow they're never quite as heartfelt, aren't they? So, this year it's back to basics.
See, now this Spice Girls song has gotten me all emo, and I have just under two chapters of Financial Management to cover. Go me, whoop de doo.
Back then I didn't know why
Why you were misunderstood
So now I see through your eyes
All that you did was love
Mama I love you; Mama, I care
Mama I love you; Mama, my friend
You're my friend
